i am woman...

hear me roar with excitement that lauren's quilt is FINALLY DONE!!! HALLELUJAH! i started this quilt about 4 weeks ago. and with lots of guidance and encouragement from erin (thank you!) we have a completed quilt. i actually wanted to make both kids a quilt for their birthdays...hahahahahahahahahhahaha!!!!!! that is just so funny just typing it! b/c making just this one felt like it took forever to complete, i couldn't imagine doing them back to back. i told andrew he would have his by Christmas. his is going to be fun to make, i already have fabrics for his and will start working on that in a couple of months. i have had lauren and andrew's quilts pictured in my head for years, and now, hers is finally complete! i could not have done it without the help of my good friend and wise quilting counselor erin. thank you for your endless advice, help and encouragement. without these things, i could not have finished this thing, let alone start on it. so here are some pics to see the finished product. i think i have some when i first started the quilt, so i will have to dig those up and post them later...until then...

some of the fabrics are flannel and some are just cotton, i wanted to mix up the textures a bit.

there it is in all its glory. it's a twin size quilt, kinda scary for my first quilt!

i just love the quilty wrinkles, looks so comfy, cause it is!

blindstitching the binding was the most boring part of this quilt...ugh!

just did a patchwork backer strip to give the back a little something extra.

this picture makes all that work worth it!
